The Envelope Please . . .

A year ago Dartmouth tailback Nick Schwieger shared the Bushnell Cup, symbolic of the Ivy League player of the year, with Harvard tailback Gino Gordon (photo). The Bushnell(s) will be awarded at 11:30 today and Schwieger is once again in New York City as one of two finalists for the Bushnell for offense. (For the first time there is a Bushnell being awarded for offense and one for defense.) Joining Schwieger as a finalist for the Bushnell for offense is Cornell sophomore quarterback Jeff Mathews.

Finalists for the defensive Bushnell are Harvard lineman Josue Ortiz and Penn linebacker Erik Rask.

Green Alert Take: The guess here is that Schwieger and Ortiz take home the hardware.
