Don't I know You?

Former Dartmouth football players competing for the Dartmouth Rugby Football Club in the collegiate bracket of the Las Vegas Sevens Invitational included onetime running back Curt Oberg (second from left, bottom row), defensive back Cody Patch (third from left, back row), football captain and DB Steve Dazzo (next to Patch), and defensive lineman Keith Hamren (second from right, top row).

A writeup of the tournament noted that:
Strong performances by seniors by Andrew Berson, Brendan Cronin and Keith Hamren, as well as big impacts made by the two newest additions to the team, ex-football players Stephen Dazzo and Cody Patch, served as a preview of things to come for the DRFC in the Varsity Cup and CRC Sevens this spring.
Word out of the rugby camp is that Patch, who came to Dartmouth as a running back but moved over to the other side of the ball for a better shot at playing time, has been particularly impressive.

Among others, Dartmouth was playing without standout captain Madison Hughes, who . . .
(L)ed the (USA) Eagles to a top four finish at the USA 7s in Las Vegas, including a draw with perennial powerhouse South Africa, and a shutout of North American nemesis Canada.
Columbia President Lee Bollinger and consultant Rick Taylor will be going public this morning with a report on the status of the school's football program, which has been without a head coach since Pete Mangurian resigned in early December after posting a three-year record of 3-27.

The Lions have lost their last 21 games. Their last win was on Nov. 10, 2012 when they beat Cornell, 34-17.

It will be interesting to see what comes out of the meeting. Barring the naming of a new coach – which is not expected – there probably won't be much news, but it certainly will be better than THIS from a December Washington Post humorist Norman Chad.
It's telling when you check the temperature before heading out with the pup for his morning constitutional and when it says 1-below your reaction is: Thank goodness it's not cold.

The local weather report this morning mentioned that we haven't hit 32 degrees in more than three weeks, but I didn't need a talking head to tell me which way the wind was blowing. We spent a lot of money several years back to put a standing-seam roof on our house with part of the reason being that when the temperature warms above the freezing mark the snow slides neatly off. That hasn't happened in a while. The snow from the last few storms has continued to pile up. We are going to have quite the piles of snow when it finally comes tumbling down!
