Owen Zalc, who booted four 47-yard field goals while going 17-for-21 on field goal attempts, has been selected an FCS Football Central Freshman All-America by FanNation. Of his four missed field goals, three were blocked and the fourth was from 52 yards out. Zalc was 25-of-26 on extra points. (LINK)

Dartmouth's Sammy McCorkle was named the New England coach of the year while Zalc, safety Sean Williams, offensive lineman Nicholas Schwitzgebel and defensive lineman Charlie Looes were selected to the All-New England team.
From the Dartmouth release (LINK):
McCorkle is the sixth Dartmouth coach to be named the New England Coach of the Year a total of nine times, joining Bob Blackman (1958, '62, '65), Jake Crouthamel (1973), Joe Yukica (1978), John Lyons (1996) and Buddy Teevens (2015, '19).
Also named to the All-New England team is Dartmouth grad transfer John Pupel, who was second in tackles this fall for Boston College with 77. He led the bowl-bound Eagles with 6.5 tackles for loss.
From a New England Football Writers release (LINK):
The Jack Grinold Division I Coach of the Year Award goes to Sammy McCorkle of Dartmouth. In his first year at the helm of the Big Green, under trying and tragic circumstances including the passing of head coach Buddy Teevens and player Josh Balara, McCorkle led Dartmouth to a share of the Ivy League title.
And, as previously announced:
The late Dartmouth College Robert L. Blackman Head Football Coach Buddy Teevens is the recipient of the George Carens Award to the person who has made significant contributions to football in New England. The award will be presented by Harvard Stephenson Family Head Football Coach Tim Murphy, a lifelong friend of Teevens, and will be accepted by Teevens’ wife Kirsten.

Dartmouth defensive lineman Charles Looes continues to add grad transfer offers. To his growing list add Ohio University, Arkansas State, UMass, William & Mary, Bryant and Albany.
Hank Knez, Looes' running mate on the D-line, has Xweeted an offer from Maine.
Green Alert Take: With at least 13 players in the transfer portal, keeping up with all of the offers is interesting but tricky because not all players report all of their offers. If players, families or friends want to share offers, you are encouraged to send 'em along!

Saw that a wide receiver from Tufts has already received offers from Washington and Wisconsin.
Green Alert Take: It would seem that's a high academic kid the Ivy League fanned on coming out of high school!

This behind-the-back interception in a high school game is pretty amazing. Stick with the video because the views get better:

EXTRA POINT
Our electricity came back on at about 6:15 last night. By then we had a fire going in the woodstove and the Jackery battery we were using to power a laptop and external monitor had been recharged first by a solar panel, and when the sun went in by our EV. The frozen foods were out of the fridge and in a cooler packed with snow in the event that the heat hadn't come back on, and four "Luci" inflatable solar lights for camping had spent much of the afternoon soaking up whatever sun they could.
With the electricity back up, our well pump was working again so we could finally, uh, flush the toilets again. But as happens, the outage meant when the pump started again it would cough up residue from the well and so the water was pretty ugly at the start. The joys of rural living. ;-)
Forgot to mention that our landline went out, taking our DSL internet with it. (That's our only option here apart from Starlink.) The phone and internet are still out today so you are getting this via a mobile hotspot.
And the final indignity: One of our apple trees couldn't handle the weight of the snow and its trunk snapped.
