A New Name Introduces Himself

BGA Overtime last night started with a Six Pack of observations about Dartmouth football after the Ivy League opener as well as more details from the game and thoughts from coach Sammy McCorkle and his players.

Tonight The Optimist and The Pessimist visit the site and it will be interesting to read what the latter has to say, no? CLICK HERE to check it all out.

To the growing list of Dartmouth commits add the name of Jack Taylor, a 6-foot-5, 285-pound offensive lineman from Spanish River HS, and Boca Raton, Fla.. He chose Dartmouth over an offer from Bowling Green and went public in front of the team. You may have to listen closely:

Ho hum, another Ivy League special teams player of the week honor for soph kicker Owen Zalc. He had field goals of 39 and 42 yards and was perfect on extra points in the Big Green's win over Penn Saturday. His second such honor in as many weeks runs his career total to six selections. Quarterback Jackson Proctor was the lone Big Green player chosen for the honor roll while every other school had two, three or even four players selected. Dartmouth receiver Paxton Scott absolutely belonged at least on the honor roll after catching 10 passes for 75 yards and a touchdown, with three of his grabs bringing critical first downs on Dartmouth's decisive drive in the fourth quarter.

Rookie – Matt Childs, Brown running back

EXTRA POINT
I wrote in this space yesterday about out-of-staters visiting our local hiking trail. I had to finish last night's BGA Overtime column before hitting the trail yesterday and so I was later than usual. With clouds settling into valleys below the view was spectacular, even if the setting sun was largely hidden by clouds. Fortunately, I brought a headlamp that came in handy for the final 15 minutes of my hike back down.
