We're back from our three-day trip out to a very Happy Valley (thanks to Michigan) and in a perfect world should be thawed out by the middle of the week.

While FBS teams around the country were playing regional rivalries and jockeying for position in the 12-team playoffs, the FCS playoffs kicked off on Saturday with three games of some local interest.
Central Connecticut (7-6, 6-1 NEC), which Dartmouth defeated, 20-16, put a scare in Rhode Island (11-2, 7-1 CAA) before falling, 21-17. The victorious Rams got 223 yards rushing on 29 carries from Malik Grant, a player Dartmouth knows well from his days at Sacred Heart before he grad transferred to Rhody.
Lehigh (9-3, 5-1 Patriot), which lost at Dartmouth a year ago, advanced in the playoffs with a 20-17 win over Richmond (10-3, 8-0 CAA) and will play at Idaho (9-3, 6-2) on Saturday night. During the regular season the Mountain Hawks went 2-1 against three opponents Dartmouth swept. They suffered a 38-23 loss at Yale, but had a 35-20 win over Princeton and a 33-19 victory over Fordham.
And in the third playoff game of interest, New Hampshire (8-5, 6-2 CAA) was trounced, 41-10, by UT Martin (9-4, 6-2).
