EXTRA POINT
It's time.

While there's still 18 inches of snow in places on my nearby hiking trail, the temperature is projected to hit 64 degrees in our little corner of Vermont today and soar to 81 on Friday. That can mean just one thing.

Actually, it means a lot of things – but in this case it means the time has come to bring the 1984 VW Vanagon poptop camper out of storage in the back of our garage.

If you've been hanging around this electronic precinct for a bit you know the old bus was tediously jockeyed into position across the back of the garage in November. Thankfully, getting it out is less of a hassle, although it is still a bit of a challenge inching a four-speed manual without power steering back and forth, and back and forth until it has turned 90 degrees and can be driven out.

Once we have it out we'll clean up whatever the omnipresent mice have left behind, run it for a bit to make sure the battery is properly charged after its 4½ month hibernation and then make arrangements to get the thing up to our VW bus whisperer for its annual checkup.
