A notes column out of Dartmouth spring football went up on BGA Overtime last night. Check it out HERE.

The Massachusetts Daily Collegian has a piece about UMass adding 11 offensive players and two special teamers from the portal, with two of the grad transfers coming from Dartmouth, and another two from elsewhere in the Ivy League. Here are the writeups on the former Big Green players (LINK):
Alex Geraci | TE | Gr. | Dartmouth | 6’4 | 235 lbs
Rounding out the skill position transfers on offense is another experienced tight end in the form of Geraci. The graduate spent four years with the Big Green, catching seven passes for 56 yards and no touchdowns.
Geraci plays more of a blocking role as a tight end, only walking away with nine receptions for 98 yards and a touchdown in his senior year of high school.
Kyle Brown | OL | Gr. | Dartmouth | 6’4 | 295 lbs
The Big Green have one other player transferring over to UMass, with Brown making the switch after two standout years as a starter on the offensive line. The graduate was named to the All-Ivy League First Team in 2024 after an Honorable Mention the year before.
Also headed to Amherst at grad transfers are former Yale quarterback Grant Jordan and former Harvard offensive lineman Michael Entwistle.
The Minutemen are adding 13 defensive player out of the portal, including former Yale linebacker Dean Shaffer. (LINK)

Still on the subject of grad transfers, in a story posted by Virginia’s Cavalier Daily about the an injury sidelining the program’s prize offensive line transfer comes this note about tackle depth featuring “some unknowns" (LINK):
Graduate Ethan Sipe missed all of 2024 due to injury and is coming from Dartmouth where he faced lackluster competition.
Green Alert Take: Does “lackluster competition” rub you the wrong way?

And yet another grad transfer note, keeping in mind once again these are grad transfers. Receiver/return specialist Jamal Cooney ’23, took a year away from football to get a little bigger and maybe a little faster after resuming his career at Albany:

Like Buddy Teevens before him, Dartmouth coach Sammy McCorkle pitches the opportunity to grad transfer after earning an Ivy League degree as an added benefit that comes with playing for the Big Green. While he noted on BGA Overtime that there wasn’t a Pro Day in Hanover this year, he said the preparation and training players get in his program was on display when former defensive lineman Charles Looes at Rice, and Shane Cokes at Colorado, worked out in front of NFL scouts in recent weeks.
"That just goes to show you type of talent we have and the development that we do here,” McCorkle said. "We find our type of guys, we get them here, and they're the type of guys that are hungry, that want to get better. They want to go to that next level, and we help develop them. We push them and put them in a situation where they can get to that fifth year already polished and ready to go, with the potential to play at the next level in the NFL or CFL."

EXTRA POINT
Because our home wifi does not reach our detached garage and the “extender” tech that I put in the garage to improve its range is spotty, the online capability from our electric provider to start charging our EVs after the rate goes down at night is undependable. We’ve solved that problem in a decidedly low-tech way. On the steps going up to our second floor bedroom we have a folded sheet of paper that stands up like an A-frame with “charge the car” written on it. The reminder to head out and plug in the car hasn’t failed us yet.
