Green Bay Packers On SI has a story headlined East-West Shrine Bowl Breaks Down Six Packers Rookies and one of the players it looks at is former Dartmouth corner Tyron Herring ’23, who spent two seasons as a grad transfer at Delaware after picking up his degree. From the story, which includes comments from Eric Galko, the director of football operations for the East-West Shrine Bowl (LINK):

The Packers didn't address cornerback until the seventh round with Tulane's Micah Robinson. They added Herring after the draft. Herring spent his first two seasons at Dartmouth before closing his career with two seasons at Delaware. He allowed catch rates of 46.8 percent in 2023 and 61.8 percent (but just 8.4 yards per catch) in 2024 with a total of four interceptions in those seasons. He's 6-foot-1 with 4.49 speed.

"Smart kid, will play special teams in the NFL early, has the size-length athletic ability to do so," Galko said. "He was one of the later guys we added but really, really impressed during his week at the Shrine Bowl. The ball skills, the confidence going against KeAndre Lambert-Smith and the top-100 picks that we had at the Shrine Bowl, too. The confidence was there, ability to press and get vertical, the patience and timing in the red zone. He can really hang despite being a Delaware player and maybe a smaller- school perception of a guy. ...

"He has that football and general intelligence that teams are going to appreciate. Don't be surprised if he makes the roster as a special-teams guy and a versatile defensive back."

A story on the Packers Wire Get to know Packers' 10-player undrafted rookie class in 2025 includes a small capsule on Herring as well as this (LINK):

A few Dartmouth football tidbits ahead of the final week of spring practice that begins today:

• Originally a quarterback/athlete recruit, 6-foot-3, 225-pound sophomore Kyle Meier has switched from QB to tight end.

• With his lacrosse season coming to a close, safety Harrison Keith is back practicing with the football team.

• The recruiting class that should be officially announced any day consists of 27 players. That means the list posted on BGA last Friday (LINK) that included an invitation to share additions to the list is still missing two names (whose families apparently aren’t BGA readers ;-).

EXTRA POINT

I found a good use for two things the Internet has pretty much made obsolete:
