No Surprise

From the accompanying story (LINK):

Lemieux is a two-time All-Ivy League selection entering his senior season and is a top returning FCS offensive lineman. After earning All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2023, he was named on the All-Ivy League First Team last fall. The 6-foot-4 and 280-pounder allowed zero sacks, three QB hits, and six hurries, grading out as PFF’s No. 7 FCS offensive tackle. Lemieux also earned three FCS All-American honors from FCS Football Central, the Associated Press, and Phil Steele.

Lemieux was previously listed as the top returning FCS offensive lineman in the country by HERO here, and as the second-best offensive tackle by FCS Football Central here.

Others of interest in the HERO uniform countdown so far:

99 - DL Sam Buerkle, Fordham (Dartmouth's Week One opponent)

81 - TE Seamus Gilmartin, Harvard

77 - OL Noah Jordan, Columbia

Nothing much new in the stories about Spencer Brown replacing fellow former Dartmouth strength coach Jay Butler at Rutgers (see yesterday afternoon's post) except this (LINK):

Butler was set to earn $600,000 during the 2025 season, the final year of his current contract. He received a one-year extension last summer.

EXTRA POINT

Had another discussion yesterday with the postmaster of our one-room post office, which is open only until 11 a.m. each day. We're in our seventh year living at our Vermont hillside home and have had a least that many postmasters. That's why I have to explain that the database a lot of retailers use to arrange deliveries will not recognize our address as being in West Newbury, Vt., but defaults instead to nearby Bradford.

When we type in our actual address we get a notification that the West Newbury address is incorrect. If we throw up our hands and accept the address that is offered, sometimes deliveries make it here, and sometimes they don't. The workaround offered by previous postmasters is to use the street address of the post office, with our PO box number after the address, and I thought it best to inform the new fellow that he could soon (hopefully) have an important package coming for us.

The postmaster said he'd keep an eye out for the package while noting that the delivery services often have to try a few times to drop packages off because the post office is staffed so few hours. If the national address database(s) would just make the appropriate correction, we could avoid this mess. But as a previous postmaster said one time, "Good luck with that."
