Spring Ball

Dartmouth spring practice will kick off Monday at 4 p.m.. Sessions will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays through May 6 when some form of Green-White Scrimmage will be held. Last I heard, practice was scheduled for Memorial Field, where the temporary goal posts have been moved. ... Cornell is the latest Dartmouth opponent to start spring ball. This story offers a comprehensive look at how the Big Red shaped up heading into the spring. ... Brown, you might know, was the starting quarterback on Dartmouth's 5-3-1 team in 1956. CBS Sportsline posted a nice piece on Brown after the Bengals won the AFC North title last season. Brown's daughter, Katie Blackburn, was a goalie on the Dartmouth women's ice hockey team and is executive vice president of the Bengals. Click here for a dated, but good story about her.

George Thompson, an offensive guard and co-captain of the 1981 Ivy League champions, is profiled in his local paper in anticipation of a race for local office.
