If UNH or Colgate disappears from the schedule at some point, don't look for Air Force to fill the open spot on the schedule. A news service story yesterday made it sound as if the Falcons would think about scheduling an Ivy League team. Turns out it was a team from that part of the country, but not Air Force, that is thinking Ivy. That team is Northern Colorado, where former Dartmouth tight ends coach Chad Brown is offensive coordinator.
Double-sessions today with a scrimmage this afternoon. While much of the East Coast is getting rain, our area isn't supposed to get soaked. Not yet at least. In case you are thinking about watching the scrimmage action, the hourly forecast is here.
The Charlotte Observer makes is suggestions for final cuts with the Panthers and former Dartmouth tight end Casey Cramer would make the newspaper's team. About the running backs/fullbacks, the story says:
KEEP: DeShaun Foster, DeAngelo Williams, Nick Goings, Brad Hoover, Casey Cramer.Penn held its annual scrimmage against Widener and coach Al Bagnoli told the school website: "My initial impression is that our skill kids and first unit played pretty well and our kicking game is solid."
WHY: Goings can be the third tailback and Cramer can be groomed as an eventual successor to Hoover.
A recap of the morning practice will be on Green Alert by early afternoon. Check back tonight for a complete look at the scrimmage.
