3 P.M. Memorial Field. Be There.

A few starting jobs and spots on the depth chart will be at stake today as Dartmouth concludes preseason camp with a scrimmage on Memorial Field beginning at 3 p.m. Originally scheduled for 4, the session will pit the "Ones" vs. the "Twos," and isn't expected to last much longer than an hour, kicking work included. Skies are gray this morning but the hourly forecast calls for 80 degrees and partly cloudy conditions at 3.

When Dartmouth begins practice for the opener against Colgate tomorrow it will be preparing for a new Colgate quarterback. According to a story in the Utica Observer-Dispatch, coach Dick Biddle has made a switch heading into Saturday's game against UMass. In last week's 13-11 win over Albany, Colgate's only touchdown was set up by an 87-yard kickoff return. Who will be at the controls a week from Saturday? Stay tuned. ...

Like Colgate, Columbia has a question at quarterback according to the Spectator. With incumbent starter Craig Hormann not yet ready after offseason knee surgery, sophomore M.A. Olawale and Temple transfer Shane Kelly are the leading candidates to get the start in the opener against Fordham according to the school paper.

With the opener looming, former Dartmouth tight end Casey Cramer missed yesterday's Tennessee Titan practice with a knee injury according to this story.

The Daily Kansan school newspaper has a lengthy piece about beer pong that credits Dartmouth with inventing the game. ... Dartmouth's alumni battle is the subject of an Associated Press story. The "lede" to the story had me chuckling:
Internal politics are never boring at Dartmouth College, whose board this Friday retreats to a New Hampshire lakeside to consider changing how the school is governed. To hear some of Dartmouth's passionate alumni tell it, the fate of the whole world is at stake.
