One Up, One Down For Dartmouth Opponents

Colgate will play UMass next week, which should provide an interesting -- if not necessarily accurate -- comparison between the Raiders and the Crusaders. ...

It appears Casey Cramer has made the Tennessee Titans' roster again. On a rough day for Ivy League NFL hopefuls Tennessee's final cuts were posted and Cramer's name does not appear on the cut list. (link) By the way, you can find Casey's bio with the team here.

Elsewhere around the NFL, Cornell's Kevin Boothe was cut by the Oakland Raiders, Harvard's Clifton Dawson by the Indianapolis Colts, Cornell's Seth Payne by the Jacksonville Jaguars and Columbia's Steve Cargile by the Denver Broncos.

Appalachian State's win over Michigan highlighted a pretty fair opening week for teams in the FCS. (link)

"Has any matchup ever lost more luster in one day than the Sept. 15 Notre Dame-Michigan game? The Fighting Irish couldn't score a touchdown at home while losing by 30 to an unranked opponent."
