HANOVER -- He was the athletic director at Syracuse during the building of the Carrier Dome and the first year of the Big East.
During his 27-year watch the Syracuse football team made visits to the Orange, Sugar and Fiesta Bowls (among 14 bowl appearances), the men’s basketball team won the 2002-03 NCAA championship and the school claimed no fewer than 11 national titles in men’s lacrosse.
Rest assured that Jake Crouthamel ‘60, a star running back at Dartmouth and the Big Green’s head football coach from 1971-77, knows about athletic buildings.
And, not coincidentally, about building athletic success.
