Fiedler Tees It Up

Maybe bowling will be next for Jay Fiedler, who seems to be enjoying his retirement. Fresh off his appearance in a pro volleyball event, the former Dartmouth quarterback and co-owner of a CBA basketball team teed it up in the LPGA's Stanford International Pro-Am in Aventura, Fla. From the Miami Herald (which also has a picture):
''I was hoping some people would charge me while I was hitting the golf ball, but it didn't happen,'' Fiedler said about not having defensive players harassing him. "On the football field, you're just reacting to what you see and trusting your instincts you build up.''
Fiedler, confused with former quarterback A.J. Feeley in a media report about his volleyball exploits, apparently was confused with a former teammate in a Stanford International Pro-Am press release. It said: "Miami Dolphin kicker and Co-captain Jay Feely will also be hitting the links."

As expected, speedy Brown wide receiver Paul Raymond has signed with the New York Jets. Brown safety Jose Yearwood, meanwhile, will be reporting to a Kansas City Chiefs minicamp. The Brown website has a story.

The Brown pair will be joined in their NFL quest by a trio from Yale according to that school's website. Defensive tackle Brandt Hollander will report to a New York Jets minicamp, tight end Langston Johnson will get a look at a Tampa Bay Bucs minicamp and defensive back Nick Solakian will be in Cleveland where the Browns have agreed to terms in recent days with Columbia senior quarterback Craig Hormann and Columbia grad Steve Cargile claimed off waivers from the Denver Broncos.

Remember, kickoff for the Green-White scrimmage tomorrow has been moved up to 10:30.
