Tony Bates chuckled when asked last week about the number of family and friends who would be coming to his "homecoming game," at Penn Saturday. He put the number at 35-40 and then laughed when he said something along the lines of, "Those people know how to party."
He wasn't kidding. Between breakfast and lunch with the crew from Johnny "Signman" Rodio and the "Tailgator" – they actually had a menu, no kidding! – and DJ Ralphy encouraging passers-by to join in the festivities, it was a first-team All-America tailgate.

The Philadelphia Inquirer story on Sunday's game is up. Not surprisingly, it's Penn-centric with Foley Schmidt the only Dartmouth player mentioned.
