From a Dartmouth press release that should be on the website shortly:
"Josie Harper, Dartmouth's Director of Athletics and Recreation since July 2002 and a member of the athletics staff for nearly 27 years, today announced her retirement effective June 30. She was the first woman to hold this position at any of the Ivy League schools."
Also in the release was this quote from Dean of the College Tom Crady:
"After Josie leaves at the end of June, I plan to appoint an interim Director
of Athletics to serve for a year while a new Dartmouth president gets settled
in, and during that time we will begin a search. I expect to announce the interim
director in a month or two."
