Slow Saturday

Don't know how I missed this one the first time around. At a time of budget cutbacks everywhere you turn, Holy Cross has announced it is adding scholarships according to a late March story in the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. No, not football, but men's ice hockey, men's and women's soccer and field hockey. There are plans to add schollies in women's ice hockey in the future.

The Crusaders have been awarding scholarships in men's and women's basketball in 1998 and this latest round of additions will likely increase the clamor for football scholarships at Holy Cross and around the Patriot League.

Cornell kicks off spring football practice today. Find the Big Red's Spring Practice Central here.

Add Colgate to the list of football programs joining the National Marrow Donor Program's efforts to add 5,000 new members to the marrow registry. Link

There are a lot of online auctions that will sell you this or that old Dartmouth football program. But this auction bundles 20 different programs from 1976-84. I can't be completely sure, but I think the QB about to make a pitch (wearing No. 5) is now calling signals in the corner office of Floren Varsity House. There have been no bids in the auctin, with opens at $4.99 and runs until April 7.
