Switching sports on you again, I just came across a note that Oakland A's righthander Trevor Cahill will be replaced on the American League all-star team because of the timing of his final start before the break. Now I have to admit, even being a baseball fan I didn't know Cahill had been named in the first place.
Ah, but I did know the name.
Cahill, 22, was a Dartmouth baseball recruit out of Vista High School in Oceanside, Calif., who seemingly was headed to Hanover before being taken in the second round of the 2006 draft. He's 8-2 with a 2.74 earned run average this year. And if I'm doing my math right, he could have been a Big Green senior this spring.
Read about Cahill's selection to the all-star team here.
