Poll Closing Soon ...

Click 2010 schedule poster to supersize it.
Have you voted in the poll over there on the left yet? Time is running out. What's interesting is if you do the old figure skating thing – throw out the high, throw out the low, throw out the Russian bloc (just kidding about that last part) – the symmetry of the graph is almost perfect. There are 36 votes below .500, 37 above .500 and 29 at .500. As of this morning there are two days left to vote and the only request is that you vote what you honestly feel.

In case you've been Rip Van Winkling it since last fall, here's the revamped schedule:
Sept. 18 at Bucknell
Sept. 25 Sacred Heart
Oct. 2 at Penn
Oct. 9 Yale
Oct. 16 Holy Cross
Oct. 23 at Columbia
Oct. 30 Harvard
Nov. 6 at Cornell
Nov. 13 Brown
Nov. 20 at Princeton

As long as it's a "reminder" morning here at BGA world headquarters on the shoulder of beautiful Moose Mountain, Green Alert Premium goes live again next week. You don't want to miss a thing, so if you haven't yet subscribed or renewed your subscription, don't delay.

All was quiet on the Game One news front until last week when Bucknell's media guide suddenly appeared online. Now a preseason story has appeared in the Standard Journal out of Milton, Pa. The story headlined Optimism High in Bison Country notes that upwards of 50 players have been in Lewisburg most of the summer and that of the 30 who took the team fitness test last week, well, 30 passed. That's everyone. The story reports that Bucknell players officially report for preseason Friday.

From the story:
(Head coach Joe) Susan arranged for those involved in the condition program to reside in an empty fraternity house on campus for the summer. Around 30 team members have lived together all summer, providing the opportunity to bond outside of their 6 a.m. lifting sessions.
Sounds a little like the Cornell basketball deal last winter. That didn't turn out too bad ;-)

Speaking of Bucknell, the Patriot League media day is tomorrow in the Lehigh Valley. Excerpts from a PL release:
All seven Patriot League Football head coaches will be in attendance, along with at least two student-athletes from each institution.
While the event is restricted to media members, fans can have their say at media day by submitting a question for a head coach to the Patriot League Facebook and/or Twitter pages.
From now until Monday, the Patriot League will take questions at both sites to present to head coaches during their video interviews that will later be posted on both the League website and Facebook page.
An "in-person" media day? Questions from the public? Video interviews? As they say, it's all good.

Dartmouth had two recruits chosen for the Oklahoma All-State Game played last week. According to a preview story, it might have had three. Selected for the East team were Hanover-bound Bishop Kelley receiver Joe Dowdell and Verdigris offensive lineman Cohle Fowler.

Also on the East squad was defensive lineman Ryan Lester, who drew interest from Dartmouth and Colorado School of Mines before deciding to walk on at Oklahoma State according to the Muskogee Phoenix.

Dartmouth men's golf coach Rich Parker shot his best round of the US Senior Open Sunday, carding a 1-over par 71 to finish tied for 51st. He was 2-under through 14 before three consecutive bogeys booted him out of the red numbers. He collected a check for $7,845 on rounds of 72-77-76-71.
