Game Week

Dartmouth has taken the wraps off its 2010 Football Information Center, a centralized location for updated info from the now defunct media guide.
*
It's game week. Finally.

In case you are wondering, here are the games of interest for Dartmouth fans this Saturday:
Georgetown at Yale, noon
Sacred Heart at St. Francis (Pa.), noon
Stony Brook at Brown, 12:30
Fordham at Columbia, 12:30
Princeton at lehigh, 12:30
Dartmouth at Bucknell, 1
Cornell at Wagner, 1
Holy Cross at Harvard, 7
Lafayette at Penn, 7
*
The Ivy League game of the week on Sirius radio is Lafayette at Penn. Games involving Dartmouth that will be carried on the satellite radio service:
Yale at Dartmouth on Oct. 9.
Harvard at Dartmouth on Oct. 30.
Brown at Dartmouth, Nov. 13 (also on Versus TV)
*
Not much Bucknell chatter on the Internet boards that I can find beyond a less-than-encouraging, three-message posting here.
*
Bucknell has been good about getting its game notes posted early in the week. While you wait you can find the Bison statistics here. Of interest:
  • While Bucknell is averaging just 74.5 yards rushing per game, it is allowing even less than that, 73.5.
  • The Bison is passing for a woeful 94.5 yards per game while allowing 205.0.
  • Bucknell has seven sacks in two games.
  • Bucknell's only touchdown in two games came on an 89-yard kickoff return.

The weekly Sagarin Ratings are in. Wins and losses elsewhere shifted Ivy League teams slightly. The number after the school name is last week's ranking:

121. Harvard (124)
128. Penn (130)
154. Yale (156)
155. Brown (157)
187. Princeton (189)
200. Columbia (200)
202. Cornell (202)
210. Dartmouth (209)

Also of interest ...

95. UNH (93 – lost to Pitt)
162. Holy Cross (155 – lost to UMass)
176. Colgate (165 – lost to Furman)
227. Sacred Heart (214 – lost to Robert Morris)
235. Bucknell (230 – lost to Marist)

Sagarin has the Ivy League ranked as the 21st best conference in Division I and sixth among FCS teams:
11. Colonial
14. Southern
15. Missouri Valley
16. Big Sky
17. Great West
18. Ivy League League
19. Southland
20. Big South
21. Patriot League
22. Ohio Valley
23. MEAC
24. Northeast
25. Southwestern
26. Pioneer
27. Independents
The FBS conferences rated below the Colonial: The Mid-American and Sun Belt.

The teams picked 1-2 in the Patriot League were outscored on Saturday by a combined 76-22. Granted, they were playing top competition on the road (Colgate lost to Furman, 45-15, and Holy Cross fell to UMass, 31-7) but expect voices calling for scholarships in the PL to grow ever louder.
