Sacred Heart's game notes? Um, not yet ... but there's a video where the Sacred Heart running back coach talks about Dartmouth starting at about the 1:25 mark. Find that video here.
The Daily Dartmouth has a preview of the Sacred Heart game. I understand why coaches and players would say it, but I'm not buying the idea that Sacred Heart is coming here thinking this is an "automatic" win. When you lose 41-0 while the other guy is winning 43-20, you don't go to their place thinking anything is automatic.
Jake Novak down at the Roar Lions Roar blog doesn't think Sacred Heart has much business even being on the same field with the Big Green. Noting Dartmouth is a "20-point favorite," he writes:
The Big Green should win this one something like 34-7… that could actually be the halftime score.Notorious for taking shots at Dartmouth, even the Harvard Crimson isn't buying Sacred Heart as much of a challenge, predicting a 42-14 Big Green victory. The Crimson writes:
The rule of thumb when making predictions about football games involving Dartmouth is to bet against the Big Green. But this week proves to be the exception, if not the start of a new trend.

The Manchester Union Leader's weekly New Hampshire preview has a section on Dartmouth-Sacred Heart noting that the Pioneers' starting right tackle and fullback are from the Granite State.*
The college has been making a big push to get students to come to the games this fall and the Daily Dartmouth thinks that's a good thing. From an editorial board opinion piece:Dartmouth will likely face many sizable and difficult issues this year, but as far as athletics are concerned, we are off to a good start. To be the best college or university in the world — a status (President Jim Yong) Kim encourages the College to strive for — Dartmouth must continue to raise the bar in all of its endeavors, be they athletic or academic.

Brown will be playing Harvard tomorrow night under temporary lights in the first night game ever at Brown Stadium. The Brown Daily Herald writes about the historic game and the Providence Journal lists Ten memorable moments at Brown Stadium. In case you are wondering ... none involved Dartmouth.*
A Milton Academy (Mass.) quarterback named Charlie Story who ran for more than 1,000 yards last fall is "eying Dartmouth and Harvard," according to the Patriot-Ledger.*
There's been lots of chatter about Harvard having a 24-year-old quarterback (helps that he transferred from LSU) but it turns out that Penn has a senior linebacker who is the same age. From the Daily Pennsylvanian:Linebacker Jake Peterson (39) entered the 2010 football season seven years after he first joined the Quakers. Peterson missed two seasons while on a Mormon mission and another due to injury. The DP also notes that Quaker running back Jeff Jack, "spent two years on the African island of Madagascar before matriculating at Penn. As a freshman last year, Jack was 22 years old."

Dartmouth's recruiting class this year included a 6-foot-1, 202-pound running back from Weber High School in Utah named David Daines, who is spending two years on a Mormon mission before enrolling.*
The Boston Globe has a story about Williams College, which some might call the Stanford of Division III. Others might call Stanford the Williams of Division I. Turns out the school that sent Athletic Director Harry Sheehy to Dartmouth had to deal with budget issues like so many others. Under the headline, At Williams, they trim expenses, not programs, the Globe wrote:But actually drop a sport? People would have a purple cow.For the uninitiated, Williams' mascot is the Purple Cow.
