Schwieger is Golden.

Dartmouth tailback Nick Schwieger has won the New England Gold Helmet for his 216 rushing yards, 57 receiving yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 43-20 win over Bucknell. The award is presented weekly to the top FCS player in New England. Find the Dartmouth release here.

The New England Football Writers press release (which I couldn't find online):
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Dartmouth junior Nick Schwieger and Assumption sophomore Uly Gibson received the New England Football Writers' Gridiron Club of Greater Boston Gold Helmet Awards for week three of the 2010 football season.

Schwieger, a native of Norton, Mass., highlighted the first weekend of Ivy League competition as he rushed for 216 yards and finished with 273 all-purpose yards in a 43-20 win at Bucknell on Saturday. This was the second time that Schweiger has topped 200 yards in his career and he did it carrying the ball 25 times, averaging 8.6 yards per carry. The rushing total of 216 yards is the sixth-most ever by a Big Green player. The other 57 yards of his 273 all-purpose yards came on five receptions, good for third-most all-purpose yards in school history.

Beginning the second half trailing 20-9, Dartmouth put the ball in Schweiger's hands as he contributed 56 yard and 11 yard touchdowns in the second half to propel the Big Green to victory. Schweiger has already earned two other honors this week, Ivy League Co-Offensive Player of the Week and College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) National Running Back of the Week for the FCS classification.

Gibson, a native of Middletown, N.J., made quite a statement in his first career start. On 39 carries, he rushed for 234 yards and three touchdowns to power undefeated Assumption past New Haven, 45-28, in Northeast-10 Conference play. He also contributed 27 yards receiving on three receptions, yet the 234 yards stands out as it is fifth-most in school history. Gibson wasted no time in tallying the yards as he sped through 54 during his first four carries. His first two touchdowns came in the second quarter as he scampered for three and 17 yards on his way to the end zone. On the first Greyhound offensive series in the second half, Gibson helped the offense knock 9:07 off the clock on 11 carries for 63 yards. His final touchdown, a two yard rush, put Assumption up 44 – 28, before the extra point, and all but assured the victory.
