Crank Up the Computer

Good news for out-of-towners, those averse to traveling country roads and penny pinchers. Video of the Dartmouth-Cornell football game will be streamed FREE through Cornell's partnership with IBN. For more information, click here.

Cornell's game notes are available in PDF format here. (And yes, I know that PDF format is redundant ;-).
*
Something interesting from the Cornell notes that I did not realize:
The second-longest uninterrupted active series in college football will continue for the 92nd straight year. The two teams have met every season since 1919.
And the longest is? They left me hanging on that one but with a little research it appears that Lehigh-Lafayette takes the nod. They've played The Rivalry every year since 1897 and 145 times overall.

Dartmouth's release on Shawn Abuhoff being named Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week can be found here.

And Jake's comment on Dartmouth:
The Big Green were basically shamed by the Crimson. But a visit to Cornell this Saturday should be just what the doctor ordered.

A Harvard Crimson article that ought to fire up the Dartmouth offensive line:
A second-team All-Ivy selection a year ago, (JosuĂ©) Ortiz’s dominant form led Harvard’s defense in an unrelenting attack that trampled over the Big Green offensive line for the entire game on Saturday.
*
From a Crimson blog posting:
Even though Dartmouth has made some big steps in the right direction, it’s still a long way away from a powerhouse like Harvard, and the Big Green’s losses to 4-0 Penn and 3-1 Yale prove it further.

An opinion from a 2009 Dartmouth alum's blog:
There was one of the most impressive student and alumni turnouts I've ever seen for a Dartmouth football game ... if only the team had shown up too.

It's back to practice this afternoon. Look for coverage of the session tonight on Green Alert Premium.

Speaking of which, with last weekend's coverage there have now been more than 100 newspaper-length stories on the subscription site since the start of preseason camp in early August. Given that those stories average around 1200 words, that's about 120,000 words, with three weeks still left in the season. In case you are wondering – and I was because like players all around the league I'm wearing down a bit – that's the equivalent of a relatively long novel.

Now as for the BGA blog ... . Nah, I don't want to think about it.
