Greetings from the Garden State

Team BGA left Hanover a little after school let out and shut Vlad the Old Expo's motor off at 10:15.

It's supposed to be in the mid-50s and sunny this afternoon. It looks like a perfect day for baseball. Oops, football.

Thanks to an Alert reader for the name of a high school senior who is said to have committed to Dartmouth. Ben Landon Spiritos is an offensive lineman from Landon School in Bethesda, Md. His commitment is mentioned here. Various sites list him at 6-foot-2 or 6-3, and from 285 to 301 pounds. Find his Rivals page here and his Washington Post All-Metro page here. There are several photos of him here.

Have you read about the embarrassing messup with the Northwestern-Illinois game to be played at Wrigley Field? One end zone was so close to the right field brick wall that even though it is padded the decision has been made to have all offensive plays go in the same direction. When there is a change of possession play will stop and the teams will flip-flop on the field. Gotta believe someone lost their job over this one. Check out this story and these pictures.
