Princeton's University Press Club has a story that notes it has been a terrific fall at the school with the exception of one sport. From the story:"... Princeton’s football team is on the precipice of a level of putridity it hasn’t seen since 1973. That’s the last time we went 0-7 in the Ivy League. And 1-9 would be the worst overall record the football team’s ever had since we switched to a 10 game schedule in 1990."On the precipice of a level of putridity? Ouch.

The Dartmouth website has posted the 1,300-word program feature I wrote on tri-captain Tim McManus. (An aside: I've written literally thousands of stories at the newspaper and since heading out on my own, but this is the first time I ever used my own name in one.) Find the story here.*
College Football Performance Awards has a "2 Minute Bio" on 19 players from around the country (unless I counted wrong) and one of them is Daniel Barstein, Dartmouth's freshman kicker. Scroll down to find his answers to questions like person to meet, scariest animal and oddest food tried. I was hoping they included favorite website, but it's probably just as well they didn't ;-) For Barstein's Dartmouth bio click here.*
Common sense prevails at The Game as Harvard has banned vuvuzelas according to the Yale Daily News. From the story:Yale quarterback Patrick Witt ’12 said he is glad to hear of the ban, adding that the loud roar of the vuvuzelas would “cheapen” The Game for those on the field and in the bleachers.
Eva Galvan ’11, a member of the Yale Precision Marching Band, said she contacted Harvard athletics administrators about the horns after she realized how their use might affect Harvard and Yale bands’ halftime performances. When Harvard administrators told her they had no intention of banning vuvuzelas at the Game, Galvan said, she encouraged her friends to contact officials and ask for a ban.
