Globe on Chris Rorke

The Sunday Boston Globe wrote about Chris Rorke, Dartmouth's new quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator, and the success he's enjoyed. From the story:
Since 2006, the 43-year-old Rorke has coordinated the offense at NESCAC juggernaut Trinity. The Bantams went 34-6 over five seasons and the 2008 squad set school and conference passing records. Prior to his arrival in Hartford, he spent three years at Lehigh. In his first year, QB Kyle Keating finished eighth in the nation in pass efficiency. His second season, Lehigh led the Patriot League in scoring, passing and total offense. His only head coaching position (1992-2002) came at Plymouth State, where his 2001 team topped the Freedom Football Conference in scoring, passing, and total offense.
Dartmouth coach Buddy Teevens offered this quote:
Chris also has worked with (offensive coordinator) Keith Clark previously and meshes well with him. The two have a good understanding of each other and a strong sense of trust in each other.
(Thanks for the link to a story I had fanned on ;-)

Rorke's hiring at Dartmouth was announced in this release.

Getting kind of antsy to see what Rorke and Clark have planned for the Dartmouth offense? The Big Green's spring sessions are scheduled to start two weeks from tomorrow. To get in the mood, watch the short Ivy League football promotional video Tradition Lives Here, from which the still of Hank Paulson was taken. The 30-second piece narrated by Chris Berman was produced by Erik Greenberg Anjou of 8 Ivy League Football and America fame.

The Vail Daily has a detailed story on UNH football player Todd Walker, who was shot and killed last week trying to stop a robbery.

Lucas Watch:
Former Dartmouth baseball standout and onetime jayvee quarterback Ed Lucas '04 is trying to make the Atlanta Braves roster as a utility man. Lucas was 1-for-2 while seeing time at both second and third base yesterday. He's now 10-for-30 this spring, batting .333. He told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:
“I’m no spring chicken anymore in terms of making the big leagues for the first time. I feel like I’m a late bloomer, and there’s a lot of good baseball (left in me).”

As I type this a town grading truck just went down our dirt road. Good thing. Mud season began this weekend and it is getting to be a mess out there. But it could be worse by the end of the day. Accuweather says there are 4.5 inches of snow on the way here today. To be honest, I would be perfectly fine without it ;-)
