Speaking of quarterbacks, I should have mentioned this before but former Columbia great Dr. Archie Roberts has been named the 2011 recipient of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame's Distinguished American Award. Did you happen to notice that Yale's just-concluded campaign raised $3.881 billion? From a Hartford Courant story:A November 2010 report in the Chronicle of Higher Education said that Yale was one of 10 universities with fundraising goals of $3 billion or more. The only universities with larger goals were Stanford University at $4.3 billion and Columbia and Cornell universities, each at $4.0 billion. Those universities aren't expected to end their campaigns until December 31, 2011.
