Princeton coach Bob Surace
Excited to build off good offseason of weightlifting and spring ball. Have a solid corps of veteran guys. Catapano, Cody and Wornham captains, last two back to health.
Being picked among last reflect how many injuries last year? Not sure many coaches look at polls. Former teammate Jason Garrett used three words to turn cowboys around in second half last year: Be great today.
Need reduction in errors. Be in right alignments.
Changes this year: Biggest thing started day season ended. Big commitment to being stronger. Have to play better fundamental football. Margin for error slim. Need to build depth with young guys being ready to play.
Playoff ban: We don't have a lot of control over that. As competitor like to compete as long as can, whether playoffs or more games. Coaches pretty unanimous that love to have opportunity to do things other sports can do. Hopefully at some point able to do what other teams can do.
On night games in the Ivies: A great atmosphere. Want to play them early in the year. Travel can make it tough. Selfishly with young kids I like it. They can play their soccer games in the day and come out at night.
Cody returning on defense: A tremendous player. Best in training camp last year. Terrific leader. High-energy, tough, physical. Guy everybody looked up to. Not just replace talented player but voice of the defense. A big bonus having him back.
