Big-Number QB Eyes Green

From a Boston Herald story about a Massachusetts schoolboy quarterback who passed for a state record 43 touchdowns with just four interceptions while finishing with 2,885 yards in the air last year:
The Ivy League is on his radar, with Dartmouth and Princeton at the forefront for now.
Everett, Mass., QB Jonathan DiBiaso's Rivals page is here and his ESPN recruiting page is here. The southpaw's lengthy highlight video is here.

A Utica Observe-Dispatch blogger writes of Colgate running back Nate Eachus, the nation's leading rusher in 2010 who Dartmouth will see for the first time in the Sept. 17 opener:
He’d rather run you over than run around you, but he has some style, too.

As a wise man once told me, if you have two No. 1 quarterbacks you don't have one No. 1 quarterback. (Think about it.)

Week Two opponent Sacred Heart opens tonight with head coach Paul Gorham planning to play two quarterbacks as he seeks to replace the graduated Dale Fink. The Connecticut Post writes:
... (C)omplicating Gorham's decision is that both players have never appeared in a college game, play a similar style (pocket passers) and have put up almost identical numbers with the starting unit in spring and summer practices."
But it sounds as if Gorham hopes to settle on one before Dartmouth visits Fairfield on Sept. 24:
"In order to get a real accurate assessment, I have to put them in a real game situation," Gorham said. "I have to find out which one of these guys has that `X factor' and I won't find that out until the lights go on."

The Sports Network writes about the kick blocking prowesss of Bucknell's Josh Eden, who blocked an FCS record six extra points and eight kicks overall last year and got his hands on two kicks by Dartmouth.

Dartmouth's fall sports season began with a 5-0 field hockey win over Sacred Heart, a 3-0 volleyball win over Manhattan, a scoreless men's soccer game at Holy Cross and a 3-0 women's soccer loss at Texas A&M.
