Green Lands Tight End

The Palm Beach Post reports that Dartmouth has received a commitment from tight end Jack Sheehy, a 6-foot-5, 235-pound tight end from St. Andrews School in Boca Raton, Fla., where his quarterback was Big Green freshman Cameron Crage. Sheehy is listed by Rivals as a three-star recruit. Sheehy caught 39 passes for 448 yards and nine touchdowns a year ago. Find his junior year highlight video here.

The Big Green earlier received a commitment from Jordan Greenwood, a 5-11, 175 corner from Orange Lutheran in Southern California.

Week Five opponent Holy Cross gave FBS-bound Massachusetts a fight until the Minutemen wore the Crusaders down toward the end of a 24-16 game in the first contest ever played under the lights at Fitton Field. The Worcester Telegram reports. The game drew a crowd of 15,942. How much of a difference did the lights make? Last year the top crowd at Fitton was 10,891 and the average draw at home for Holy Cross was 6,607.

The University of New Hampshire's FBS magic appears to have run out. After a string of wins over upper division teams UNH lost its second in a row, this time by a 58-22 score at Toledo. The Manchester Union Leader has a story.

Week Two opponent Sacred Heart has posted its game notes for Saturday's opener against Marist. Luke Wischnowski is listed as the starting quarterback replacing the graduated Dale Fink, but coach Paul Gorham says Tim Little will also get some snaps.

Russell Wilson, son of former Dartmouth standout Harry Wilson '77, had a strong opening game as quarterback at Wisconsin in a 51-17 win over UNLV. He passed for two touchdowns and ran 46 yards for another. Wilson, who previously played at North Carolina State, was chosen as a Wisconsin captain after just one month of practicing with the Badgers, a clear sign of respect his new teammates have for him.
