Whew

Oklahoma athlete/speedster Victor Williams has said thanks but no thanks to an offer from Tulsa and has confirmed his commitment to Dartmouth according to ESPN. An earlier story revealing "Smoke's" intention to visit Tulsa can be found here.

Visiting Hanover this weekend according to the Seattle Times is a 6-foot-3, 215-pound linebacker with very good speed from Archbishop Murphy. Find Sam Shober's highlight video here.

Now the Hartford Courant is chiming in on the Patrick Witt situation at Yale. The Courant also has a column that includes this:
It's time for President Richard Levin to speak. Damn it, Richard, speak and speak loudly and definitively. Yes? Or no? This part of an increasingly complex story should be easy enough to answer. The reason Witt became a national story in the first place was because of his difficult decision, one based on the most glorious aspects of student-athletics. Either it was his to make or it wasn't.
The Washington Post has a story under the headline: Patrick Witt and the New York Times' rush to judgment.

Tough times for the storied Dartmouth women's basketball team, which last night dropped its 12th game in a row. By far the most successful team in Ivy League history with 17 Ivy League championships and a .684 all-time winning percentage in conference play, the Big Green is 2-14 overall and 0-2 in the Ivy. The men's team is 4-15 overall and 0-3 in the Ivy after falling to Brown last night.

On a brighter note for Dartmouth followers, the women's hockey team is 13-6-2 overall and 9-4-2 in the ECAC while the men's hockey team snuck over the .500 mark last night with a 6-2 win over Brown that raised the record to 9-8-2 overall and 6-5-1 in the ECAC.
