Still Another Name

UPDATE: Having friends in Houston doesn't hurt ;-) Here's a recap of what one alum in the know emailed me:

Josh Winslow is a talented athlete from an athletic family. Younger brother Justise is a high school sophomore who is a huge basketball talent (link). Dad Ricky was a member of the Phi Slamma Jamma teams at the University of Houston in the early '80s and was selected by the Chicago Bulls with the 28th overall pick in the 1987 NBA Draft.

By the way, I get tired of all the dunks on ESPN's top plays, but check out this one by Justise Winslow, just a high school sophomore.

This morning's email brought in the name of a potential safety although a Google search for "official" confirmation leaves him flying under the recruiting radar.

Josh Winslow is a 6-foot, 180-pound postgrad at Loomis Chaffee in Connecticut. He was chosen to the NEPSAC Class A All-New England team as a wide receiver. MaxPreps stats have him with 16 rushes for 158 yards (9.9 per) and three touchdowns on the ground and seven catches for 64 yards. But those numbers, like a lot on the site, look to be partials.

Winslow came to Loomis from St. John's in Houston where he played quarterback and was chosen to play in the TPSCA All-Star Football Game. There's a video of him as an option QB here.
