No Ivy Leaguer was drafted this year but tailback Nick Schwieger, who rewrote the Dartmouth record books with 3,150 rushing yards and 4,115 all-purpose yards, has signed with the St. Louis Rams. He'll be welcomed to St. Louis by Kevin Demoff '99, T '06, Rams executive vice president and chief operation officer and former teammate Tony Pastoors '10 who works in the Ram front office. There's a little blurb about the signing here.
Among other free agent signees of local interest were Columbia offensive lineman Jeff Adams with the Cowboys, Harvard offensive tackle Kevin Murphy with the 49ers, Yale defensive lineman Jake Stoller with the Steelers and Colgate running back Nate Eachus with the Chiefs. New Hampshire linebacker Brian McNally signed with the Redskins.
No word yet on Shawn Abuhoff and Dartmouth's other pro hopefuls.
Track free agent signings here. Not sure how this happens but tiny Division III Endicott College of Massachusetts – the Fighting Gulls if you can believe it – had two players signed.
