Jenny To Be Honored

Chosen for the Wayland High School (Mass.) Hall of Fame is former Dartmouth quarterback Alex Jenny '11. He will be inducted Nov. 3. From the Wayland Town Crier:

A two-time captain and two-time league all-star, he currently holds the school record for career passing yards (4,679) and career touchdowns (49).
In addition, Jenny was the Dual County League Offensive MVP and the MetroWest News Football Player of the Year his senior year.
Jenny was a two-year starter for Dartmouth, setting the school record for most completions in a game (29) without an interception while throwing for 348 yards against Colgate in his junior year. He saw his senior season ended by an arm injury against Yale in the fifth game of the season. Still, he is 14th on Dartmouth's career list for passing yards with 2,341.
Dartmouth and Harvard will hold their annual preseason scrimmage (played like a game) on Thursday, Sept. 6. As usual, the home team for the regular-season game (Dartmouth) will travel for the preseason meeting. And has been the case most years, the game will be played at the same start time as the regular-season game, in this case 5:30 p.m. No word at this point if the event at Harvard will be open to the public but the anticipation is that it will be "closed."

Dartmouth practice, by the way, begins Wednesday, Aug. 22. The first double-session is Aug. 27 and the first day off isn't until Sunday, Sept. 2. There will be coverage after every session on BGA Premium.

The Big Green opens against Butler on Sept. 15.
The "consolidated rankings" pulled together by College Sports Network are in and they having Harvard ranked No. 23 in the nation, tied with Murray State.

The New York Times has a story about the late Bill Wallace who wrote about Yale football for many years.
