Happy Thanksgiving

If you will be avoiding anywhere that has a cash register tomorrow (like me) but would like to get a jump on your holiday shopping, check out the 2013 Vintage Dartmouth Big Green Football Calendar from Ã…sgard Press.

Calendars for Brown, Cornell, Harvard, Penn and Yale also are available, along with calendars from numerous other universities. I've had several of the calendars in the past and when they say they are suitable for framing, they aren't kidding.

From the publisher:

If you'd like to purchase a Vintage Dartmouth (or any other Asgard Press calendar) at a 10% discount,  you can do it two ways
1.  Go to www.asgardpress.com, and use the promo code "biggreen12."
2.  Just click on the link below.
(A heads-up, the site doesn't calculate the 10% discount until the very end, so don't worry when you don't see the discount when you put the calendar in your shopping cart.)
This offer is good now until February 1, 2013.
Here's the link: Vintage Dartmouth calendar
Scan the offerings and there's also a 22x28 inch poster from the 1951 Dartmouth-Harvard game won by the Big Green, 26-20.
We are on the road at 0-Dark-0 tomorrow morning driving That Certain Nittany Lion back to school. We'll be in the Beaver Stadium stands for the football game against Wisconsin Saturday afternoon and making the long slog back on Sunday. ... If I can break the annoying habit of feeling the necessity to post something every day, the BGA blog will go dark until Monday. If I can't stop, I guess I'll have to find a way ;-)
Happy Thanksgiving!

Don't pull any muscles during that touch football game today! . . .
Word from Wisconsin is that the Dartmouth recruiting class has added long snapper Graydon Peterson of Whitefish Bay. The 6-foot-1, 220-pound Peterson, who has been snapping since fifth grade, has been nationally ranked in his specialty. Check out his very detailed page and videos from Rubio Long Snapping on Chris Sailer Kicking.

Whitefish Bay sent hard-hitting safety John Pircon '08 and Peter Kortebein '86, a linebacker who spent time in an NFL camp, to Dartmouth among others.

Peterson will concentrate on long snapping but also will practice with the linebackers.

John Hanna, who handled the Dartmouth long snapping this year, will graduate in the spring.
