Names And Numbers II

Bios on the Dartmouth football web page are being regularly updated this summer. Today: a chosen highlight from the 2012 season taken directly from the second batch of updated bios:

Sophomore defensive back Vernon Harris . . . ranked fifth on the team with 42 tackles and tied for the lead with five passes broken up

Senior tailback Dan Henggeler . . . contributed heavily to the 35-21 road win at Princeton, taking the handoff 11 times for 38 yards and a pair of first downs

Sophomore defensive back Frankie Hernandez . . . key contributor on special teams until an injury sidelined him for the final three contests

Senior tailback John Higgins . . . contributed to the efforts of the junior varsity program

Sophomore offensive lineman Brendan Johnson . . . played on the offensive line for the junior varsity squad that went 2-1 in three games

Senior free safety Jimmy Johnson . . . first career varsity action came in the season opener against Butler as he broke up two passes, the second of which came on fourth down of the Bulldogs' final possession

Senior offensive lineman Brett Kana . . . took the field in seven of the 10 games

Senior defensive tackle Elliot Kastner . . . healthy and it showed as he started all 10 games and brought down 28 opponents, tied for the most among the Big Green defensive linemen

Senior wide receiver Austin Katigan . . . Continued to work on his skills with the junior varsity

Sophomore defensive back Will Konstant . . . best jayvee game came against Williams in which he brought down eight Ephs and picked off a pass that he returned 55 yards

Sophomore tight end Sam Laptad . . . missed out on much of rookie campaign with an injury

Junior defensive back Rob Lauzen . . . recorded nine tackles in the three JV games, including four in the 21-10 win over Williams

Junior kicker/punter Riley Lyons . . . recorded every kick — punt, field goal, PAT and kickoff — by a Dartmouth player during the season
