BGA's No. 1 emailer shared a link to a Rivals.com page listing Florida running back Semar Smith has holding an offer from Dartmouth . . . along with others from Harvard, Yale and Penn. Not surprising the 5-foot-9, 213-pound Smith has attracted Ivy League attention. His brother, Seitu Smith, is a talented junior wide receiver/return specialist at Harvard who was recruited there by current Yale head coach Tony Reno. LINK

Today is the Hanover-based Prouty, the walk, ride, row, golf fundraiser that has brought $2.48 million in donations already this year for the Norris Cotton Cancer Center. The top two fundraisers so far: Susan Wright, wife of former Dartmouth president Jim Wright, and former Dartmouth Director of Athletics JoAnn Harper. Dartmouth football followers will find a couple of other familiar names in the list of top fundraisers.
From the About The Prouty page:
Last year Norris Cotton Cancer Center celebrated 40 years of service to the people of northern New England. And we are proud that in 31 of those years, The Prouty and this wonderful community have raised more than $17 million that funds research into ways to better diagnose, treat and prevent cancer. These dollars have also funded patient services that help ease the way for patients and families struggling with cancer. People who have donated to The Prouty should know that they have helped not only patients in northern New England, they have made a difference in the lives of patients all over the world.
