A Little Recruiting

Recruiting news has been hard to come by this fall but with help from a couple of emailers here's a commitment and an interesting candidate:

The commitment is from Emory Thompson, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound defensive back from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Lexington, Kent. As a junior he led the state of Kentucky last year with seven interceptions. He had three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and 26 breakups or deflections while recording 45 tackles. Also seeing time at quarterback and wide receiver, he had 1,267 all-purpose  yards and 14 touchdowns last fall.
Another in a long line of players reported to have "offers" from Dartmouth (as well as from other Ivies and numerous other schools) is Donnie Foster, a 6-foot-4, 300-pound offensive lineman from Savannah, Ga., who attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. From Palmetto Sports:
His offers are from Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth and Savannah State with interest from USC, Clemson, Florida State, Miami, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech and Indiana among others.
There's a little more on him here.

I must admit I haven't seen it but former Dartmouth quarterback-turned-actor Ben Koldyke '91 plays the role of Dick Slingbaugh in the ABC TV series, Back in the Game. Koldyke was a regular on the TV series Work it, and made multiple appearances on How I Met Your Mother and Big Love according to his Wikipedia bio.
