Brown Notes

Brown's game notes for Dartmouth have been posted here.
The notes include a scary list of the 70-plus yard touchdown runs by John Spooney, the Ivy League sprint champion who probably would have had more but didn't play football last year as he concentrated on track:
94 yards vs. Penn, 11-2-13
93 yards vs. Penn, 11-2-13
81 yards vs. Cornell, 10-22-11
73 yards vs. URI, 10-5-13
71 yards vs. Princeton, 10-19-13
The notes also mention that Brown's Emory Polley leads the nation in interceptions per game. His five "picks" have him at 0.6 per game.
The WHRB Harvard radio blog offers a best-worst case scenario for each Ivy League football team's finish. Here's what the blog wrote about Dartmouth:
Best-case scenario: Share of the title. Dartmouth wins both of its last two games, Yale upsets Princeton, and Harvard fares no better than 1-1.
Worst-case scenario: Sixth. Dartmouth loses its final two games, Brown beats Columbia, and both Penn and Yale win at least one more game.
The Sports Network has its weekly picks posted and goes with Brown to defeat Dartmouth. In other Ivy games, TSN has:
Harvard over Penn
Princeton over Yale
Cornell over Columbia
Sophomore tailback Kyle Bramble was named Dartmouth's male athlete of the week after running for 110 yards against Cornell. He's featured briefly in the second half of this video interview that begins with the female athlete of the week.
A Class of '58 alum took a look at yesterday's BGA posting of the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine graphic listing the top attended games at Memorial Field and had a feeling a few had been overlooked.

Even before completing his research, he had these to add:
Oct. 26, 1974    Harvard    L 15-17    21,530
Nov. 13, 1971    Cornell     W 24-14   20,819
Oct. 30, 1971     Yale        W 17-15   20,349
Oct. 14, 1972     Princeton W 35-14   18,900

A fine all-around athlete, former kicker Matt Kelly '11 competed in the Suncoast Triathlon at Fort DeSoto in St. Petersburg, Fla. Here's a shot that leaves little question where he went to school:
