Well, Hello

Jarius Brown, a 5-foot-7/5-8ish wide receiver/athlete from Florida has committed to Dartmouth according to 247 Sports.

Brown caught 15 passes for 262 yards and three touchdowns last fall as a senior, averaging 17.5 yards per catch for University School in Fort Lauderdale. Prior to his year at University he played at South Broward High School.

Rivals lists him with an offer from Western Kentucky and assigns him two stars. Find his In the Huddle page here.

Four Ivy League football student-athletes were among the 43 winners of the 16th annual Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) Academic All-Star Team  with Dartmouth senior Michael Runger named one of seven finalists for 13th Annual FCS ADA's $5,000 Postgraduate Scholarships.
More details from the Ivy release:
Two of the seven finalists student-athletes will receive postgraduate scholarships during the Association's annual membership meeting held in conjunction with the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Convention, being held at the World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando, Fla., June 9-12.
Joining Runger as finalists were Fordham's Brett Biestek, Montana State's Tanner Bleskin, Nicholls State's Jordan Hanberry, Liberty's Scott Hyland, Coastal Carolina's Niccolo Mastromatteo and Southern Illinois' Austin Pucylowski.
This space has written before about offensive lineman/mathematician John Urschel, the Campbell Trophy winner who chose Penn State over Princeton. No word on whether Nittany Lion linebacker Ben Kline garnered Ivy League interest but his letter about the coaching situation in Happy Valley shows why he considered Duke, Vandy and Boston College, and might have fit in quite nicely in the Ivies.
The Dartmouth reports that a problem with the online Common Application site gave Dartmouth applicants a few hours or reprieve earlier this week. From The D:
The Common Application posted an update on Wednesday to its Facebook page that explained the glitch to member colleges and universities. All member colleges with a Jan. 1 deadline will accept applications that were submitted promptly on the morning of Jan. 2.
According to the Weather Channel the temperature in Hanover bottomed out at 23-below at 11:05 last night. We had to settle for a disappointing 15.9-below here on the mountain.
