Princeton defensive tackle Caraun Reid was chosen by the Detroit Lions in the fifth round of the NFL draft. He was the only Ivy League player to hear his name called. Check out the Princeton Football blog for a story.
With Mike Catapano going to Kansas City last year, Princeton has had NFL draft picks in back-to-back years and that's something Tigers coach Bob Surace will be selling on the recruiting trail. Here's what he had to say on the Princeton blog:
“We have players who are achievers and leaders. And if you are good enough, the NFL is going to find you. I’m sure our recruits now don’t look at Princeton as an obstacle to get to the NFL.”As of Sunday morning there was no more news available about Waggoner or anything firm about running back Dominick Pierre.
Touted after a breakout sophomore years as a potential high draft pick by former coach Kent Austin, Cornell quarterback Jeff Mathews was not chosen and agreed to terms with the Atlanta Falcons.
Defensive tackle Nnamdi Ubokwelu of Harvard will get a shot with the Indianapolis Colts and long snapper Tyler Ott of the Crimson will try to earn a spot with the New England Patriots.

Abby D'Agostino added her 14th Ivy League title by winning the 10,000 at the Heps Saturday in her first attempt at the race. LINK Believe it or not, she could be running both the 3000 and the 5000 today. She's a once-in-a-lifetime Ivy League athlete.
