Several nuggets of interest from the Columbia game notes. (LINK):• While Dartmouth crushed the Lions last year, 56-0, the two most recent games in New York City have been close. In 2010 Dartmouth squeaked by with a 24-21 win. In 2012 it was Dartmouth winning 21-6.
• Although the numbers are close, Dartmouth has been outscored in three of four quarters on the year. Score by quarters:
First: Opponents 50, Dartmouth 44
Second: Opponents 40, Dartmouth 38
Third: Dartmouth 45, Opponents 24
Fourth: Opponents 28, Dartmouth 20
Total: Dartmouth 147, Opponents 142
• Starting at right guard for Columbia is Charlie Flores, a 6-foot-4, 283-pound freshman. Starting at left tackle for Dartmouth is Jacob Flores, a 6-4, 290 junior. Charlie and Jacob are brothers.

The UNH Insider has an entry noting that New Hampshire will open the season next year at San Jose State. Of more interest in these parts is this from the Q&A portion:Q. There’s one more contest, in 2016, scheduled in a 10-game contract with Dartmouth. What happens then?
A. I had some conversations with my Dartmouth colleagues when they were here a few weeks ago for the game, trying to find some future dates. Trying to find two future dates, specifically, one at Dartmouth, one at UNH, but it might not be for a couple of years. I don’t think Dartmouth has an opening until 2019. We’re very interested in continuing to play them. We think it’s a good game. It’s an important game for the two Division I programs in the state to play.

The latest Gridiron Power Index ranking has been posted. (LINK) The GPI, again, averages out 10 FCS ratings to come up with one that is said to do a good job of predicting at-large bids to the playoffs. (Not that that has any relevance to the Ivy League, of course.)The GPI lifts Dartmouth past Princeton, but, interestingly, lifts Yale past Dartmouth:
