A couple of notes of interest . . .
• Penn's six-game losing streak is the longest in Al Bagnoli's 23 years in Philadelphia.
• Bagnoli is 146-74 all-time at Penn. Unless you are a Quaker fan you probably would come up with the wrong answer if someone asked you which Ivy League opponent has given him the most trouble. Here's his record against Ivy League teams, from best to worst:

Injured tailback Lyle Marsh will not be playing for Penn but All-Ivy League first-team linebacker Dan Davis hasn't been ruled out pending an evaluation by the school medical staff Wednesday. The Football Writers Association of America has selected Yale as the Big Game national team of the week for its win over Army. Previous winners this season were Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, Boston College and Mississippi State. (LINK)Here's what the release about Yale's win selection said:
Yale (2-0) is just the third FCS school to earn the FWAA's weekly honor, joining North Dakota State and Appalachian State. FCS teams are eligible when playing FBS schools. It was the Ivy League's first win over an FBS opponent since 1986 (Penn over Navy, 30-26).

Missed this the first time around but Yale set a school record with 36 first downs against Army. The previous record of 32 was set in 1976.

Do you realize that the University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey team opened play Saturday afternoon at Maine? That means for a while Saturday the UNH women's ice hockey team and Dartmouth football team had played the same number of games.In case you are wondering, the women's NCAA Frozen Four is March 20-22 meaning should UNH or Maine go all the way their season would stretch on for a few days short of six months.

That Certain Dartmouth '14 has volunteered to help coach cross country this fall at the local high school where she is student teaching. She writes about teaching and coaching in her blog HERE. Yesterday's training session proved a little more exciting than most. Turns out they spotted a bear about 100 yards away. That Certain Dartmouth '14 has run a lot of miles on the teams at Hanover High and Dartmouth but that was a first. After wrapping up her student teaching at Thanksgiving, she will attend the December Tuck Bridge program and begin her new job in Wisconsin in January.By finishing second in the Nittany Lion Open, That Certain Nittany Lion earned a berth in the Penn State Golf Club's 36-hole match against Pitt, West Virginia and several other schools. Rather than spend the weekend on the road, he (and several others) elected to pass on the match in favor of staying in State College for Homecoming and watching the football game against Northwestern. Given how the game against the Wildcats (and Dartmouth quarterback Alex Park's offensive lineman brother Ian) turned out, he probably wishes he'd play golf. Fortunately, he'll have another tournament in a couple of weeks when the football team has a bye.
