Curt Bury '53, will be attending his 66th consecutive Dartmouth-Yale game Saturday. Given how the season has started for the two teams, there's a chance it could make the list of his favorite games in the Yale-Dartmouth series that Curt shared with BGA two years ago.

Curt's list is reprised at the end of this post, but first a little background on the streak, which was in jeopardy a couple of years ago when the trip from his home in Maryland to the Yale Bowl was complicated by AMTRAK delays. Curt's note starts with how he managed to see all four Dartmouth-Yale games while working in England for IBM UK, and finishes with an explanation of just how far he's willing to go to keep the streak intact:
Since I was working with IBM USA products, I needed two or three trips back each year to catch up with US representatives and Labs developing these products, it was no great problem to schedule one of these trips in October.
The streak began when we were living in Westport, CT in the '40s. My Dad (D'27) and a local Dartmouth grad had the idea of renting a bus for the D-Y game, always played at the Bowl those years. They decided to fortify the bus with selected liquid refreshments(!) Given the 40 minutes or so trip to New Haven, it was customary for about half of the 20 or so Dartmouth alumni the to offer to "guard" the bus while the rest of us went to the game!
Starting in 1947, but interrupted in 1948 when I sat on the bench while playing 2nd string guard for my Westport high school football team, it picked up for good in 1949.
During my Dartmouth years, it was the habit of many of '53ers, including some '54ers, to attend every Dartmouth football game, home and away. This included driving to Ann Arbor, to watch us play Michigan in 1950. This was before the smallest crowd in some years at the huge Michigan Stadium (about 70,000 instead of their usual 90,000 or so - but I believe the largest crowd in Dartmouth football history.)
Weatherwise, there were no really great problems in D-Y history, especially for those of us who attended to famous Dartmouth at Princeton "hurricane" game in the '50s, when punts into the wind went backwards!
Perhaps one of my challenging trips is this one:
Several months in our Collington Lifetime Care infirmary regaining leg strength from too long in bed from a minor recovery from a broken finger, I am hoping to be able to walk again (with a walker) by Christmas. My only way to get to New Haven from near Washington where I live is using a special Medical Transport Van, rented for the day by my son David (D'78), accompanied by my 12-year-old grandson. You will see me in the stands in my power scooter after our 5 hour, 20 minute drive.
Editor's Note: If you see Curt (probably at the top of the Dartmouth stands) congratulate him!

And now his favorite Dartmouth-Yale games:
