How Dartmouth opponents fared Saturday:
Harvard 45, Columbia 0
Recap and stats
The Crimson (8-0, 5-0) returned three interceptions for touchdowns, forced six turnovers and ran for more than 300 yards while dealing the Lions (0-8, 0-5) their 19th consecutive loss. Scott Hosch played quarterback for Harvard, whose first three scores came on two interception returns and a five-yard drive following a fumble. Columbia had the ball for 14½ more minutes than Harvard, forever putting to rest the notion that time of possession is critical ;-)
Yale 45, Brown 42
Recap and stats
Tyler Varga ran for 204 yards and the two teams combined for more than 1,000 yards of offense as Yale (7-1, 4-1) won a shootout over Brown (4-4, 2-3) to keep its Ivy League title hopes alive. The Bears had a 20-7 lead before Yale ran off 24-consecutive points in a span of about seven minutes on either side of halftime to make it 31-20. A Brown touchdown with 3:33 left made it a three-point game but the Bulldogs recovered the onside kick and kept handing the ball to Varga until time ran out. Marcus Fuller passed for 393 yards for Brown, which visits Dartmouth Saturday.
