Looking Back And Ahead – Special Teams

Today: A look at the final 2014 Dartmouth special teams statistics and who is/could be returning next year. (Click chart to enlarge.)

Work continues on replacing the home stands at Memorial Field. Here are photos shot yesterday. (Click pictures to enlarge.)

The outer wall is being braced against large concrete blocks.
The "Friends" area is filled with equipment.
The aluminum seats are being removed in advance of demolition.
The stands will be taken down through a whole cut in the north-side concrete.

Speaking yesterday with Dartmouth coach Buddy Teevens, who was in the soggy Southern California recruiting, I asked him about quarterback Dalyn Williams being named along with Yale tailback Tyler Varga as a finalist for the Bushnell Cup as the Ivy League's outstanding offensive player. Here's part of what he had to say:
I’m certainly not surprised. I’m happy for him and I’m happy for the program. It’s well-deserved. We put a lot of pressure on our quarterback in terms of protections, schemes, run-pass options. I thought that he matured tremendously through the course of the season. He protects the ball well and his touchdowns to interceptions ratio is ridiculous. He has a wonderful ability to keep a play alive with his feet. That’s where you see the game going at the national level and certainly it is nice to have a guy like him who can do so many different things for us. It is quite an honor for him to be considered and hopefully it goes well for him.
