Have A Happy


Here is a Valentine's Day look at how Dartmouth's "revenue" sports are faring this winter . . .

• Men's ice hockey defeated Cornell last night, 3-2, to improve to 12-8-4 overall and 9-6-4 in the ECAC. The icers are 6-0-1 in the last seven games and are tied with Harvard and Yale for third in the ECAC standings with 20 points. Quinnipiac leads the way with 29 points. St. Lawrence is next with 24.

• Women's ice hockey sewed up a spot in the ECAC Tournament last night with a 5-2 win over Colgate that lifted the Big Green to 12-11-2 overall and 8-9-2 in the conference. Dartmouth stands seventh in the standings with 18 points. Harvard leads the way with 31 points.

• Men's basketball dropped an 81-72 overtime decision to Cornell last night in Leede Arena. The Big Green, which lost for the fifth time in a row, is now 8-13 overall and 1-6 in the Ivy League. Harvard and Yale are tied atop the standings with 6-1 Ivy records while Dartmouth and Brown have one win apiece.

• Women's basketball fell to 10-11 overall and 1-6 in the Ivy League with a 66-46 loss at Cornell. Dartmouth has dropped its last six games and is tied with Columbia in the standings, each with one win.
