QB News

And then suddenly the quarterback news came pouring in . . .
A couple of days ago word broke that North Carolina QB Bruce Dixon IV was headed this way. (LINK)
Yesterday two news outlets reported that Brendan McGinty of Lafayette High School in the Williamsburg area of Virginia had received an offer from Dartmouth. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound McGinty was also set to visit Penn before making a decision that could come any day.

Here are his senior highlights:

From the Daily Press:
Dartmouth could play the versatile McGinty just about anywhere. He also started at outside linebacker but was most heralded as the Rams QB, where he completed 68-of-112 passes for 1,302 yards in the first 13 games, while rushing for 567 yards and 12 touchdowns.
A story in RevCitySports suggests the Colonial Rivers Conference 25 Offensive Player of the Year could end up at tight end. From that site:
. . . McGinty secured his first college offer last weekend during an official visit to the New Hampshire campus. Ivy League schools cannot offer athletic scholarships, but they can offer an admission to the school.
“It’s very exciting to get my first offer from an Ivy League school because education has always been my top priority when looking for colleges,” McGinty said. “I was more than impressed with the coaching staff, facilities and the players at Dartmouth.”
According to RevCitySports, McGinty was offered a preferred walk-on spot at William & Mary and a partial scholarship by Lehigh. More from RevCitySports:
The second-team, all-state selection plans to visit the University of Pennsylvania later this week. McGinty, who’s being recruited as a tight end, hopes to make his decision after all his visits are complete.
Darryl Mobley, a 6-2, 185 southpaw from Hyde Park High School in Austin, Texas was accepted by Dartmouth early decision and is planning to join the team as a walk-on. He's described as a dual threat QB who played in an Oregon-style offense at Hyde Park.

In an SI.com story Harvard defensive end Zach Hodges is described as one of the smaller-school players with "the most to prove" at the NFL Combine. Yale tailback Tyler Varga isn't mentioned.
Quite a mess down at Bethune-Cookman, where former Dartmouth offensive coordinator Jim Pry landed after leaving Hanover. Check out the story about improprieties in the football program tied back to the departed head coach HERE.
