This And That

News and Updates from The Nelson A. Rockefeller Center at Dartmouth had a quick Q&A last month with junior safety David Caldwell discussing his winter internship at an "energy start-up incubator" in Charlotte, N.C. Find the piece HERE.

Caldwell posted 30 tackles last fall, playing in all 10 games, and will be a key player in 2015 as the Big Green bids for its first Ivy League title since 1996. Find his bio HERE.
Former Dartmouth quarterback Jeff Kemp '81, who played on four teams during a 10-year NFL career, will be giving "an insightful talk on navigating life's challenge," entitled "Facing the Blitz" on April 30 in Edmonds, Wash., as part of the Operation Military Family-Cares initiative. Find a mention HERE.
Former Yale standout Rich Diana sees a parallel between the retirement of 49ers linebacker Chris Borland and his own decision to quit football after one year as a running back with the Miami Dolphins. (LINK)

Green Alert Take: This is in no way meant to diminish the concerns about playing football, but in some ways the players today are safer then they were in Diana's day. Credit rules changes in the past couple of years and a dramatically heightened awareness of the concussion issue.
Al Bagnoli's coaching staff at Columbia has been announced. Not surprisingly it is a solid mix of veteran and rising young coaches with a healthy amount of Ivy League experience. (LINK)
Thanks to a loyal reader for pointing out a football recruiting video unlike any you've seen on BGA. Surely some school will have a spot for this kid, although probably not between the lines ;-) (LINK)
Another loyal reader shared the news that former Dartmouth distance standout Will Geoghegan helped the Oregon track team win the indoor national championship as a graduate student. (LINK) Geoghegan set the Dartmouth and Ivy League mile record of 3:58.04 last year. Find his Oregon bio HERE.
And finally, Dartmouth men's basketball is playing in the postseason tonight for the first time since 1959. The Big Green's game at Canisius is being streamed by the College Insider organization HERE.
